Post by: john302 on January 26, 2008, 12:40:30 AM
What would be the correct 308 distrubutor cap for my December 1967 built 1968 z/28? Would it have  Delco Remy  patent pending  r   on the top of the cap? or without the r ? does anyone know this?  thanks John

Not sure about Camaro, but in NCRS Corvette Flight Judging, caps through '67 are the D-308 with Patent Pending and no "R"; in '68 and '69, with and without "R" are acceptable, also "Pat Pending" and "Patent 2769047". For '70-up, caps are considered correct with "Pat Pending" and "R".

An excellent $69.00 GM-licensed reproduction of the '67 no "R" cap became available about 8 months ago from the Corvette vendors, which (finally) depressed the eBay prices of original no "R" caps to something reasonable.
