Title: Date difference between engine's and cars

On the CRG site it says that there is some accecptions for being more than one month difference, what type of scenario would this happen with?

As my Grandfather that worked at GM for 35 plus years says,GM had not real inventory control system .There were many times new parts arrived and were used before skids of parts that had been on site for a couple months or often longer.
