Title: Robert Barg R.I.P.
Post by: Jon Mello on January 16, 2025, 06:23:12 PM
I received some very sad news from Vince Howlett.  He told me that our friend Robert Barg (known on this forum as oldtransamdriver) passed away about a week and a half ago.  He relayed this message from Robert's friend Skip Jones...

"Robert passed away this morning (January 6).  He was never in pain, just went Home to our Lord peacefully.  He does not want a funeral. He does wish for his ashes to be spread on the Mission track (in B.C.).  Irene... thinks it would be good to have a memorial sometime.  We’ll talk about that later.  We lost another good one.  So glad we both got to see him."

My prayers and condolences to Robert's family and friends upon his loss. He was a good man and I'm thankful for him sharing his time and knowledge with us here on the forum.

Prayers to the Family.

I sure Enjoyed Robert during his visits to the PNW & the (Kent) Pacific Raceways July Historic Racing. Like hearing his tails on the Track.

God Speed Kind Sir.

So sad to hear.  Robert was so darn friendly and helpful to so many of us.  Though it's been a while, his presence at the vintage race events where Historic Trans-Am cars were running was always the best part of the weekend.

Thank you for passing along the news, Jon.
