I HAVE A EARLY BUILD CAMARO 12 BOLT AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE AXLE CODE AND BUILD DATE WHERE NOT GANG STAMPED BUT INDIVIDUALLY STAMPED WAS THAT POSSABLE
-
Post a picture.....
-
What year?
-
I have a couple photos of early 12 bolts (69 - late 68 for 69MY) that were not gang stamped. As Chick mentioned post a photo or you can email me and I can post it.

No need for all caps.

Photos from Rich. My personal opinion is the stamp is legit.
-
thanks for uploading the pictures if anyone has any pictures of similar stampings especially in that build date time frame it would be greatly appreciate thanks

I agree with Darrell but will wait to see what our experts conclude. Thanks Darrell for assisting Rich.

I have seen these individually stamped rear ends as I have one myself. Jerry initially could not verify it to be original, but as more time passed and more were observed like mine in the same time frame, he did acknowledge my rear to be original. I knew the rear to be original since I knew the original owner and his family and the full history of the car (a ton of docs and history from new), and I was not selling the car, so while concerning initially, I just knew with more time and more discovery the truth would come out. I have now seen many examples from researching mine, I would assume the same will hold true for you as I think yours appears original imo. Just be patient and let the research catch up. :)

still looking for rearend stamps off set anomalys
-
Is this rear end associated with a particular car or is it loose?
Bare housing or complete?
If complete, how do the ring and pinion dates and the posi date compare to the housing assembly date?
-
the posi carrier date is within the build date the ring and pinion was changed by the 2nd owner to 411 gears that where dated 7-71 , this rearend is in my 69 camaro
-
OK what is the assembly date of the Posi?
I would just roll with it and not worry about it.
I assume no documentation for the car? Still have the original engine and transmission?
-
trying to remember the posi code thinking H-7 - G or H HAVE TO LOOK THROUGH PICTURES i do have the original p o p the car is a 4 th week of sept 1968 build
-
THE CAR HAS ITS ORIGINAL ENGINE & TRANSMISSION ALSO THE ORIGINAL PROTECTO PLATE HOPEFULLY OTHERS WILL CHIME IN
