Title: Upper Control Arm Bushing

I was under my 69 Camaro this evening changing oil and just happened to notice this. What will have to be done to fix this? Will the entire control arm have to come off or is there another way to fix this. Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

Now that's a first for me.....unfortunately you'll have to take out the control arm to remove the remnants of the old bushing and replace with a new one.  You'll need a new end washer and nut.  Keep a track where the top control arm spacers come from.

Strange it would do that.

Check the threads in the dogbone while off the car.  Might be stripped.

It was probably a polyurethane bushing.  They are not bonded to the sleeves like a rubber bushing would be. The installer greases them up so they wont squeek and that can help them pop out if the fastener starts to back out. Up and down motion of the a-arm unscrews the retaining bolt and "pop" it came out.
