Title: M22 Throw-Out Bearing
Post by: Bigfish45 on April 15, 2023, 08:04:55 PM
I need to replace the TO bearing in my 1969 Camaro 396 M22 car. What is the best available? Price is not a problem. I looked at one of the cheap "self aligning" TO bearings at Advance and it felt rough when I rotated it. It also was part plastic, which I really didn't like. It's a lot of trouble changing this TO bearing out and I want the best there is to put back in. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If your Camaro has an OEM clutch set-up, you might consider replacing the throw-out bearing with one from AC Delco:

That link is for a good one.  Has an eccentric collar that prevents rotation of the bearing in the fork. Prevents excess wear on the front bearing retainer snout and the fingers of the fork too.  It will not spin.  Eccentric "bump" needs to be away from fork, not inside fork.
