Might also be the VIN decal that would normally be applied to the Drives door.

Deluxe interiors in 1969 had woodgrain. That's what you're seeing...Joe

I’m not getting your point - no wood grain on a ‘69 deluxe door panel. Wood grain was on the dash & console; and simulated rosewood or walnut steering wheel if you had that option.

That was my fault. The woodgrain dash that you can see in the OP photo looked orange to me,
