Title: Power disc to manual brake conversion
Post by: JBall on April 10, 2022, 10:07:36 PM
Hello,

I'm in the process of converting my brakes from power to manual for drag racing.

I'm looking for anyone that has done this and would be willing to answer a few questions about brackets, springs, pedal height. etc... I'm getting close but want to make sure I'm buttoned up. Please send me a PM if you have a few minutes to spare.

Thanks in advance.

Jason

The easiest thing to do is remove the booster and master cylinder as a unit. Get the proper length brake push rod for the brake pedal to match a new non power disc  master cylinder….since you need to stop. You might be able to loosen and “adjust” the brake lines to help mount the new master cylinder.

Are you converting to drum also?
Many times discs which drag VS drums which retract the shoes from the drum completely are swapped in order to limit any type of friction losses in heads up classes.
