VIN tag has obviously been removed and re-attached with incorrect rivets. Mecum and GAA flag this at auction because it can present a registration problem in some states. Car is located in Canada so there's that.

Car may have been re-bodied so hidden VINs must be verified.

Window stlcker is a repro.

Ill bet the VIN is off another car. Tag might be OK? I have a 05A car. His Fisher body # is 6264 off mine. His VIN is 2808 off mine. Quite a spread...… Why is the second 76 missing on the tag that the window sticker lists?

I think the tag is ok, too much shiny paint on it. Rivets are suspect. Body numbers can be way out of sequence, this one is ok IMHO.

What is particularly bothersome about the VIN tag is that looks to be an original dash. Typically, the VIN tag is moved when the rusty top is replaced. Why was it removed?
