Title: How to determine whether a 1969 Camaro is a real Z28?
Post by: BB Truckin on April 08, 2020, 11:57:57 AM
I've heard 4 leafs, speedo cable exits in center of trans tunnel, ¹³/¹⁶ sway bar, ⅜ fuel line, ex. hanger mount at 1 o'clock behind driver rear tire etc. but is there a printable list I can download from somewhere so people want get carpal tunnel from typing so much? That would be fine but thought a list might save some typing. Thanks!

Hi Brian. Glad to see you found your way here. If you have the vin it would be helpful to these guys to see if this car has have been discussed before. CRG hold lots of records for 1967-1969 Camaros only & if any docs have been found for your car, they may be part of their files....Joe

I'm going to try and set up a time to look at the car today. If I do I'll post pictures and numbers.

Even though trim tags are easily reproduced nowadays, Norwood Camaros past 12B '68 will have either the X77 or X33 codes, as you probably know. Point being, take good clear pics of the trim tag so we can take a critical look at it. Look also to see if the driver's side dual exhaust plate denoting a dual-equipped car is present on the frame section visible in the wheel well - doesn't always indicate a Z (could be an SS or other), but it's often overlooked.

Jerry MacNeish's Definitive Facts book is the best listing of Z28 identifiers I have ever found, 67-69's. If you don't have one, get one - it will help !

Regards,
Steve

Nope! I was wanting a Z28 specific ONLY list so I could just send it to my email, go to the library, use their computer, access my email and print it off instead of zooming in, zooming out, scrolling 2" at a time on my phone, go through 3 or 4 randomly working pens trying to handwrite my own list. Thanks though.
