Title: Real or Fake ?
Post by: 69z28fan on May 30, 2019, 03:11:45 PM
Looking at a 69 Z28  VIN#124379N650002, matches date on trim tag (05E). May build date. Trans numbers match engine numbers. Sound legit?

Would need pictures of the trim tag for starters.  So many fake tags out there.  Posting the pics here will get you several good eyes on it and point out any discrepancies.

The car was for sale semi-dismantled on Hemmings.com last fall; someone went to look at it. The 'VIN-stamped' block was a 618 casting, replaced by the 010 casting mid-April. Latest use of the 618 casting is early May. N650002 was final-assembled on or about May 29, 1969.

The original build configuration was X77 Le Mans blue, black vinyl top. It is now orange, no vinyl top and style trim has been added.
