Post by: RRMs69Z on February 24, 2019, 01:17:50 AM
Looks like a nice complete car if you are in the market for a 69Z. https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/cto/d/mechanicsburg/6826158494.html

*Appears* to be a nice Z28, but no photos of the cowl tag, nor of the interior, nor underneath.. but what is shown looks good.

NEVER store air cleaner wing nut {or is it wingnut??} on the carb stud! You take a chance having it slip out of your hands trying to screw it on, AND off.
Just says correct transmission and rear. What does that mean? Correct for THIS car? ORIGINAL to THIS car? Broaching on front pad looks awfully rough!... Danny

Wont go anywhere with the throttle blades closed  ;)  Magnet pulls it right out.

I've dropped air bleeds before, which are tiny and made of brass, tuning while test driving.  Even that doesn't get past the throttle blades.   A stick with bubble gum does the trick  ;D

Well there has to be a way for it to happen. Just talked to a guy at the Cars & Coffee last summer said the builder dropped it down the carb. It was a 327 Vette. They fired it and killed a piston. Had to of course pull it out and fix it. And in HS auto shop, some fellow classmate did the same thing. I guess I'm saying, why take the chance? Danny

Well yea, once you go to start it,and the blades open....gotta keep your head in it when working on something🙆‍♂️ but yea,why take the chance.

Pretty car, like the color combo. Suppose underneath is as clean as the engine compartment. Maybe seller feels if you are really interested, come look.

Exactly, once you start the engine and blip the throttle, game over.   I tend to believe if the issue goes that far, then the person wasn't even aware they dropped something in the carb to begin with.

I have spoken to the seller about this car...a year or so ago. It sounds like a very nice original car. The owner has collected and sold some fantastic original cars. The biggest drawback of this car that I am aware of is that the original owner installed style trim on an X77.
