ANY HEADS UP PROS CONS ABOUT A COUPLE VENDORS SELLING THE GOODEAR WIDE TRACK GT TIRES?
-
Contact SmallHurst for Goodyear. E70-15 Wide Tread GT. He gets them direct from Kelsey. I'm running some on my 68 Z/28.
They are what you would expect from a belted tire.....Joe

What you should EXPECT is that THEY LOOK PERFECT!
For the Biasply :"FEAR THIS" crowd get another set of wheels and mount your fav radial for fun time driving.
I will be in the market for these repops someday on my car, remember tires are made from OIL ! Black gold ,,, they are pricey but the Car looks so RIGHT with them on
CHEERS!

Rusty(small hurst on yenko) works for kelsey and had free shipping maybe in June?? He goes to alot of shows too.
I think he is an advertisor there also
I have bias ply on my car and they do wander a bit in the grooves but they go around corners surprisingly well. I kind of like them

They do look perfect for sure. I guess I should've stated they drive like a bias ply tire. They will be staying & when I'm ready the SS396 get the Goodyears also.....Joe

They have the all important visual. JUST got a set of 4 a few days ago. Mounted on the new car with assembly line correct "MICRO" wheel weights. There was a mold flaw and the dies had to be sent out for repair, as there was an actual CHUNK of the tire missing. So the shipment was delayed at Kelsey while they re-tooled for a different tire. Repaired the dies, and tooled back up for the Speedway's. But they are back in action as of June 12th!
I am not going to say I LIKE the ride. They are pretty much all over the road and catch edges on bad roads like wild fire! Put it this way, you can't put your left arm on top of the door and lay your right wrist over the steering wheel all cool and casual. BOTH hands on the wheel 90% of the time. At least with the crappy CA roads. Worst I have seen in my life time. But again, the visual is too good to pass up. I had a set of rims and radials on my first car for a while. I did 25 car shows and 20 Cars & Coffees last year, NO WAY I was going to keep changing them over. WAY too much work. After 2 times I sold them on CL. Just run the Bias.. Danny

;D Danny
Ooo-Raw!
That's the spirit
Great heads up about the quality issues.
You have to watch, I ordered a set of f70-14 raised white letter size GY and they Buffed the raised letter flush- UNSAT, but they fixed (Replaced them)

If you go to SEMA or are a vendor at SEMA, they'll sell you the tires direct at wholesale. Bought both sets this way for my Chevelle and '69 Z. And frankly, they drive decent. Not great, but acceptable. Quiet and smooth - especially going straight ;-)

UPDATE!! I have to say I took the car for a drive down to Steve's Camaro in San Bruno to show him the car in person... Total mileage that day was about 100 miles. The tires do not catch an edge like the other tires. They pull, but not as bad as the older. Don't ask me why, maybe a technology update. But 4 years seems to have made a difference. I am much happier with these new ones. And just to make sure I wasn't imagining it, I drove the other car a few miles on the same road.. {Hwy 37 between Sears Point Raceway and Hwy 101} and it was pulling like hell. Almost sent me off the road! So stay tuned for more updates. I really think there is a difference. Also, there is not so much black buildup of rubber on the back lower quarters after a ride.?? Real name of these are
Good Year Speedway Wide Tread GT E70-15 CB3EX 8) Danny
