Title: XT wheel backspacing
Post by: 69 4 Speed on January 06, 2007, 05:34:43 AM
Been looking at  14x7 xt repop wheels and it list the backspacing a 4 1/4".   Is that the same as the original?   I had in my mind the the original backspacing was closer to  3 1/2 or 3 3/4.     Thanks, Jim

I had my buddy measure his 69 dated XT and it measured 4 3/8" from the hub to the outer back edge of the rim.  The YJ rally he has measured the same (The XT & YJ have the same build dimensions).  Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks. I was just curious. Some people measure from the outside edge to the mounting flange and others from the bead edge.  It can make as much as 1/2" or so diff.  I hadn't heard the the yj's and the xt's were the same measurements but it makes sence to me.
