Title: 09c copo dates
Post by: john302 on October 06, 2015, 11:17:57 PM
Found a real cool black 69 4spd copo that has been sitting in a garage since 1975.It was a drag car for awhile and the complete driveline is gone. The build date is late 09c.Does anyone have any info on numbers matching cars built around that time for casting /build dates?Going to start looking for a block, heads ,ect.. I think the heads should be 291s and the dist.might be a 2000.anyone ? thanks John

That would be the only 09C COPO on the SYC list.  Lots of 09A and 09Ds.  Possibly CRG has more cars.  It would be great if you could post a picture of the trim tag, or at least post all of the data that's on it.

Nope on 09C's.
291 heads. I don't have a lot of distributor data for then, but the ones I do have are 499's that were sitting.

Bulaw sent me pics of the TT and under the hood... it's a real one... that makes a GOOD number of previously unknown COPO's found this year.

Real TT or real COPO or both?

Both,I just found this car two weeks ago.The old man that owned it didn't know what a copo is.Also this isn't my first 69 Camaro.

There will be another one in barn finds at MCACN.

Is there a VIN list for 69 Camaro COPO's ? As is for the ZL1's.

At best a partial listing. There may have been 900-950 L72 cars.

509 cars on the 1969 Camaro list at SYC.  Considering that a lot of the cars were undoubtedly scrapped over the years - not a bad representation of those that remain.
