Item number is missing a digit.  Should be 271274708832

Link...  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro-SS396-1969-camaro-convertible-ss-396-rare-project-car-/271274708832?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3f293b8f60&item=271274708832&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

IMO, it is a reproduction cowl tag.

Not sure about the tag, but those rivets are definately not correct and tells me that tag has been off the car and put back on at some point. So I say not original.

Maybe if they moved the cardboard you could see the gas tank through the rust holes ?

could've atleast used correct rivets. the numbers line up for a 10C car. could be the real deal. convertible big block is pretty cool.....

Convertible big block reminds me of buying my 69.  When 18; dad and I drove to the local chevy dealer to look over the Camaro's.  They had 2; a red with black vinyl roof, and a bright yellow convertible 396.   I wanted the convertible; dad wanted the convertible, unfortunately my mother was in tow with us.   One look at that 396 and the sales guy saying; "it might be too much engine for the boy" was all she needed to hear.  (Last time; we took mom car shopping with us.)   I paid the down payment and the red "small block" was mine!  Little did she know............

Back on topic,  if its a real tag, they should have used the correct rivets to re-attach it to the car.           Jim

Im going against the grain.  Its a real tag.  Obviously the rivets are terrible & not sure if its correct to the car; need more info to know for sure.

That tag number is about 7560 units and the VIN number is less than 1500 after my 10C X11 car.
