Feature Car: October/November 2017

1969 Camaro Z28, owned by Chick Renn

This Lemans Blue 1969 Camaro was born with the Z/28 option and was certified by Jerry MacNeish in 2003 with original engine, trans, and rear axle. The car was missing the original heads, intake and carb along with some external parts.

When the previous owner decided to do a restoration a few years later he decided to forgo the original factory route and chose the popular Resto-Mod/Pro-Touring theme.

The extensive restoration journey started and concluded at East Coast Muscle Cars with the addition of a 5 speed, Baer disc brakes and slotted rotors on all four corners, Detroit Speed suspension parts, and steel reproduction Cross-ram Hood. The interior was done in a standard looking theme, but was covered in black leather - including the door panels.

The interior features custom console gages, tachometer & speedo, and billet machined rear tail-light housings, among other custom one off parts.

The original block was completely rebuilt and stroked to 383 cubic inches. A solid roller cam, aluminum heads, and a Wayne Guinn certified GM Cross-ram intake and carbs were utilized. The additional cubic inches, great engine building and tuning skills by RaceKrafters make for a great combination. The engine idles at just over 800 rpm, never loads up, and can be driven anywhere.

Chick loves original type cars, but he feels that these pro-touring type cars are fun to drive and give a person room to personalize their ride. I think many of us agree!

Chick - Thank You for submitting your photos and the history of your car!
